An easier way to define and manage requirements

Defining requirements is a critical step in product development that plays heavily on the success of any release. That’s why we’re happy to announce a partnership with Process Impact that will see the consultancy’s requirements engineering templates integrated into FeaturePlan.

By using the integrated Process Impact templates in FeaturePlan’s Document Center module, users will be able to streamline the process of defining requirements, allowing them to create comprehensive market and product requirements documents (MRDs and PRDs), using analytics from the product database, in a greatly reduced timeframe.

Based out of Portland, Oregon, Process Impact specializes in software development, project management and process improvement for both small and large organizations. Their areas of expertise include requirements engineering, risk management, software peer reviews, project management, metrics, and process assessment.

Process Impact’s principal consultant, Karl Wiegers, is also a renowned author in the field of software requirements, having sold over 150,000 copies of his books. His titles include:Software Requirements, 2nd Edition; More About Software Requirements; Practical Project Initiation: A Handbook with Tools; Creating a Software Engineering Culture; and Peer Reviews in Software: A Practical Guide.

In speaking with Karl, he had some interesting things to say about how the value of templates and how they will be leveraged:
