Suites and Products in FeaturePlan

Suites and Products

FeaturePlan allows for a multi-tiered product structure. While this can be broken down into Product Lines, Market Offerings,Technical Products, Modules and Components, at its simplest, FeaturePlan organizes information into suites containing products.

Suites in FeaturePlan have three types of views:
• Suite Overview - Displays, by record type, all the records relating specifically to that suite, as well as all of the records from
the products associated with the suite.
• Suite Specific - Shows records created in the suite.
• Individual Product - Shows all the records, by record type, belonging to the selected product.

In the case where a product is not part of a suite, it will belong to the Independent Products group.

Suites and the products in them are used for navigation throughout FeaturePlan. For example, when grouping features to create roadmaps, you will locate those features using their suites and products.

To select a suite:
• Click the Suite drop-down list then choose the suite you want from the available options.

To select a product:
1. Click the Suite drop-down list to choose the product’s suite from the available options.

If your product is not part of a suite, choose the Independent products option under the Suite drop-down. Once this is selected, the Product dropdown displays independent products.
2. Click the Product drop-down list, then choose the product you want from the available options.
